# Registration & Login

> Create a SaveMate account to unlock cloud features and billing management.

A SaveMate account is optional for basic video downloads but required for cloud library, cloud sync, and billing features.

## Create an account

### Email registration

    Provide your name, email address, and a password.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Verify your email">
    Check your inbox for a verification email and click the confirmation link. You must verify your email before accessing authenticated features.

### Google Sign-In

For faster registration, use Google Sign-In:

1. Click **Sign in with Google** on the login or registration page
2. Select your Google account and authorize SaveMate
3. Your account is created automatically with your Google email (pre-verified)

  Google Sign-In creates your SaveMate account instantly with no email verification step needed.

## Sign in

Visit [savemate.io/login](https://savemate.io/login) and enter your email and password, or use Google Sign-In.

If you have [two-factor authentication](/docs/account/security) enabled, you'll be prompted for your verification code after entering your password.

## Password reset

If you forget your password:

1. Click **Forgot your password?** on the login page
2. Enter your email address
3. Check your inbox for the reset link
4. Click the link and set a new password

## What does an account unlock?

## Delete your account

You can permanently delete your SaveMate account from [Settings > Profile](https://savemate.io/settings/profile). Account deletion:

* Removes all personal data
* Cancels any active subscriptions
* Deletes saved videos and cloud connections
* Is irreversible

  Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Make sure to download any data you want to keep before deleting your account.
