# Profile & Settings

> Manage your SaveMate profile, appearance, and account preferences.

## Profile settings

### Update your information

You can update the following profile fields:

* **Name** — Your display name shown across SaveMate
* **Email** — Your account email address

### Change your email

When you update your email address:

1. A verification link is sent to your **new** email address
2. Your email remains unchanged until you click the verification link
3. If you don't verify within the expiry period, the change is discarded

  You'll see a "pending email verification" notice until the new email is confirmed.

### Avatar

Upload a profile picture from your profile settings. Your avatar appears in the app sidebar and account menu.

## Appearance

Customize the visual theme from [Settings > Appearance](https://savemate.io/settings/appearance):

* **Light mode** — Default light theme
* **Dark mode** — Reduced eye strain for low-light environments
* **System** — Automatically match your operating system's theme preference

## Delete your account

The account deletion option is at the bottom of your profile settings page. Deleting your account permanently removes:

* Your profile and personal information
* All saved videos in your library
* Cloud storage connections
* Payment methods and billing history
* Active subscriptions (automatically cancelled)

This action is irreversible. You'll be asked to confirm before proceeding.
